Molly-Mae Hague has admitted to damaging a tooth because she couldn't cope with the cuteness of her cats or her teddy - Ellie Belly.

The former Love Island star, 23, - who is due to give birth to her first child any day now - told fans about her dental issues in a recent YouTube tutorial.

She said: 'I'm my own worst enemy because whenever I look at the cats or I look at Ellie Bellie or I just talk to Tommy in a stupid baby voice, I do this thing where I grind my teeth.'

According to expert Dr Rizwan Mahmood from Rüh Dental, emotional reactions like Molly-Mae's can betreacherous on pearly whites.

He said of the phenomenon:'It's an instant physical response when humans see something cute like a fluffy kitten, puppy or rabbit which makes them react physically rather than verbally.

'But by crunching and biting our jawline tightly, we risk cracking, chipping and breaking our teeth.

'It doesn't necessarily take too much pressure to do the damage either, so if you are scrolling through cute footage on Instagram or TikTok, be mindful of your mouth!'

Dr Mahmood also warned anyone with cosmetic dentistry, runs the risk of pricey repairs.

'If you have porcelain veneers, for example, it could prove extremely expensive as they can crack under pressure,' he added.

'If you see something cute, verbalise it instead of physically reacting to it. It could save you a lot of money, and toothache!'

And after being unable to have the problem seen to, she recentlyadmitted her confidence had been knocked and she'd 'never felt more insecure'.

The influencer, is due to welcome her first child with Tommy Fury any day now and has had to avoid undergoing any dental work during her pregnancy.

Speaking candidly in her latest YouTube video, Molly explained: 'It's so bad. I have never ever felt more insecure than I do right now about my teeth.

'I'm going to the dentist on Monday - not that they can do anything to sort it - they've already told me that whilst I'm pregnant they won't do anything to my teeth.

'They even suggested that while I'm breastfeeding, they also won't do anything to my teeth.

'All of my edge bonding is coming away. And I can't whiten my teeth because you're not allowed to whiten your teeth while you're pregnant.'

She continued: 'I'm getting to the point... watching my blog footage back, I am so beyond not confident in my teeth. It's making me not want to post footage, which is not like me.

'I never care what I look like. But with teeth it's different. I just don't like looking like I've got bad gnashers.'

Molly last gave fans an update on her dental care last month.

She explained that the dentist had advised her to hold off having any work done to her smile until after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The influencer mused: 'Looks like these teeth are staying for a while even though I feel SO self conscious about them atm!

'I think literally anything that could possibly go into your system and harm your baby obviously has to be held off... even dentistry work!'
