I have only attended Lubbock High for the past two years. I started in the fall of 2022. The best thing about going to Lubbock High is knowing how much your future is valued. The staff is amazing and very helpful when a student is unsure about their work. my overall experience at Lubbock High has been amazing, and I wouldn’t want to finish my high school career anywhere else!

My experience at Lubbock High has been amazing. Starting out as a freshman during Covid was definitely a memorable time and prevented me from truly starting high school "normally". The worst part of my high school experience would have to be Covid-19 and the limitations that put off social events like football games. However, being able to experience these events my sophom*ore year made the wait 100% worth it. I am on the Pom Squad at Lubbock High so being able to cheer and dance at games and school events has definitely been the best part of my high school experience. While at Lubbock High, I have also enjoyed the teachers and the care that they have for all of their students. I would not be able to be the person I am today without the constant support and love that my teachers have shown me. I am so proud to be a Lubbock High Westerner and have truly learned so much from my time at LHS. At Lubbock High, I believe nothing needs to change, the love the staff has is truly the best.

Lubbock High School is the high school I knew I was going to attend since I was very young as majority of my family spent their highschool years there. My mom has always loved it do to its priority of academics. While it is important for schools to have great academics, sports achievability, etc., I believe that when you prioritize the academic achievements of your students, it leads to many valuable success stories. This holds true so much so, that many schools refer to LHS as "the academically focused school." While this statement is true and holds value, it can also become a negative for certain students. As I said, education is emphasized at LHS, however, our sports and athletics department fail to reach the same level of success. Many students express their love for the school and wishes to attend, however, that is sometimes outweighed by students looking to stand out athletically for the sake of their future. Therefore, I would love to see a balance in the future between the two.
