FIRST NEWS STARTS WITH BREAKING NEWS IS OMAHA POLICE RUSHED TO THE SCENE OF A SHOTS FIRED CALL, FINDING MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH GUNSHOT INJURIES. IT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE THREE THIS MORNING NEAR 25TH AVENUE AND TAYLOR STREET. THAT’S WHERE WE FIND KETV. NEWSWATCH SEVEN’S IVAN TAYLOR LIVE WITH WHAT WE KNOW. DAVON. KALE. WHEN POLICE ARRIVED TO THE SCENE RIGHT HERE ON 25TH AND AMES 25TH AVENUE IN AMES, THEY FOUND A MAN SUFFERING FROM A GUNSHOT IN THE ABDOMEN. NOW, POLICE SAY THAT THE CALL CAME IN JUST BEFORE THREE THIS MORNING NEAR 25TH AVENUE AND TAYLOR STREET. THAT VICTIM WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WITH CPR IN PROGRESS. OFFICERS WERE ABLE TO REVIVE HIM, AND NOW HE’S IN STABLE CONDITION. A SECOND PERSON WAS ALSO TREATED FOR MINOR INJURIES. AT THIS TIME, THERE’S NO DETAILS ABOUT A SUSPECT. THE CASINGS WERE FOUND ON THE SCENE. POLICE ARE STILL WORKING TO COLLECT THAT EVIDENCE. WE. WE HEARD MAYBE 8 TO 9 SHOTS ALL THE WAY ON 24TH, AND CUMMINS AND SO WHEN WE HEARD THE SHOOTING, ME AND MY TEAM, WE GOT BACK AND GOT READY BECAUSE WE INITIALLY THOUGHT THAT THE SHOOTING WAS HAPPENING ON 24TH AND LAKE, IT SOUNDED THAT CLOSE. BUT AFTER PEOPLE STARTED COMING FROM THE LOS DIABLOS CLUB, THEY WAS COMING TO THE GAS STATION, WHICH IS IN BEEMER 24TH AND CUMMINS. The Omaha Police Department responded to a shooting near 25th Avenue and Taylor Street around 3 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a person with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to the hospital, with cardiopulmonary resuscitation in progress. Officers were able to revive the victim, who is now in stable condition.

"We heard maybe eight to nine shots on 24th Street and Cumming Street," Love said. "So when we heard the shooting, my team and I got ready because we initially thought that the shooting was happening on 24th Street and Lake Street."

Love said the shooting was so loud that it seemed closer than it was.
