Step 2 - Import MK Game Profile - Cronus Zen Guide (2024)

Game Profiles are pre-set configurations optimized for each game and console when using the Cronus Zen M&K Settings.

Game profiles are specifically tuned to be used with specific games and consoles. Each profile also has recommended in-game settings which can be seen by clicking the “Recommended In-Game Settings” info button within the Profile Info portion.

To load a game profile the user must first select the console they are going to use the profile with, then select their desired profile, and lastly, click the “Load” button. The user will know which profile is currently loaded in the Profile Info portion of M&K Settings.

Certain settings will not be available to the user if a Game Profile has been loaded (the ballistic curve, translator settings, and the copy/paste button will all be disabled). The user will still be able to adjust their mappings as well as their Tuning settings. The ballistic curve and translator can be unlocked though when doing so the unlocked setting will be set to default and the copy / paste button will then be enabled.

Game Profiles

Here we go over how to navigate to M&K Settings, Importing a Game Profile, Mapping your KB keys to game Controller buttons, finalize your layout, then jump into Apex Legends and match all in-game settings to match the game profile.

Navigate to M&K Settings

Open up the Zen Studio program and then click on the M&K Settings Tab as shown in the video below 👇

Importing a Game Profile

Once M&K Settings is open then Click the import icon located in the top right of the screen and import the Apex Legends.zmk file provided below.

Select the Game Profile file for your console you will be importing below:

Apex Legends Playstation.zmk

Apex Legends Xbox.zmk

After clicking the Import Icon Zen Studio will only show .bin files by default. Simply click the drop down box above the "Open" button and select .zmk. This will then show only *.zmk files which are the newer profiles for use with M&K Settings such as the files above and mouse and keyboard guides.

Mapping your Mouse or Keyboard keys to Game Controller Buttons

Mapping Controller buttons to your Mouse or Keyboard is pretty easy simply double-click any button you wish to customize and the button you are customizing will show "Listening".

Once a button is listening press the keyboard key you would like to use for the button. Once complete the button will change to the keyboard key you have just pressed.

If you change your mind when setting mapped buttons or you would like to make changes you can accomplish this easily and quickly. First, you will need to set the mapped button to listen. Once a button is "listening" holding the Escape key will cancel a mapped button and holding Backspace will clear a mapped button. Alternatively, you may just select another key to use in the place of the existing one.

Logitech Mice and G Buttons

Most Logitech gaming mice have extra buttons called G Buttons. This allows for more buttons to be used giving the most out of your mouse. If you have a G button bound to a keyboard key in the Logitech G HUB software you MUST follow the below procedure when mapping a G button to a controller button. Failure to do so will cause the G button to not function AT ALL when using your mouse and a keyboard is also connected to your Zen. This is due to the fact that only one mouse and keyboard can be used at a time with Zen. To set a G button to a controller button in MK Settings you will need a MK Switch, second mouse connected to your computer, or a trackpad such as a laptop's built-in trackpad.

Commands, Actions, Macros, Presets, Effects, Samples and certain System assignments are not supported. Keyboard keys from the KEY tab and certain System assignments can be used. Below is a list of non-supported System assignments that can not be used as binds in MK Settings.

  • DPI Up

  • DPI Down

  • Double Click

  • DPI Cycle

  • DPI Shift

  • Goto DPI ShiftG-Shift

  • Onboard Profile Cycle

  • Audio Input Cycle

  • Audio Output Cycle

Steps to follow to assign keyboard keys or supported mouse actions to G Buttons

  1. Ensure your mouse is in On-Board Memory Mode. This is done in GHUB by clicking the gear icon on the top right of the screen and making sure that On-Board Memory Mode says "ON". If it shows as "OFF" simply click the button one time. If On-Board Memory Mode is not enabled the profile containing the binds that were customized will not be detected by Zen Studio correctly.

  2. Open GHUB and double-click on the mouse you will be making a profile to use with your Zen.

  3. Click on the Assignments button, this is a square icon with a plus sign in the middle of it.

  4. Click the Keys tab which is right of the Commands tab.

  5. In the Search for a command box type the keyboard key you wish to bind to your mouse.

  6. Drag the keyboard key from the search list to the G Button you wish to assign the bind to. The G Button will then update to the bind you have just assigned to your G Button.

  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you are done assigning keyboard keys to your G Buttons.

  8. Next click on the System tab which is located below the Keys tab.

  9. Drag any supported mouse action from the System tab over to the G Button you wish to set a bind for.

  10. Once complete the G Button will update showing the mouse action you assign to it and repeat Step 9 until you are finished assigning mouse actions to G Buttons.

  11. Now that you are finished assign keyboard keys and mouse actions to your G Buttons you are ready to save the profile to your mouse On-Board Memory. The name of this profile is located at the top left of the screen in blue letters directly above the word Assignments.

  12. Click the gear icon on the top right of the screen.

  13. Click the On-Board Memory Button once so that it now displays On.

  14. Click right of the Slot you wish to assign the profile to and select the profile that was just made using steps 1 to 11.

Finalize your layout

Once you are satisfied with the keys you mapped to buttons you are now ready to finalize your layout. To do this click "Finalize Layout" on the left side of the M&K Settings screen. This is a circular icon with a checkmark in between two brackets. After finalizing the layout open Device Monitor (click Tools then Device Monitor) and make sure all the keys you mapped are responding.

Now you can disconnect the Mini USB cable from Zen Studio and connect the Micro USB cable to the Console/PC. Open Apex Legends on the Console/PC then press MENU/OPTIONS button on your controller click SETTINGS and navigate to CONTROLLER, then match all In-Game Settings to the Settings in your Finalized Apex Game Profile. We highly recommend starting a private game against bots or shooting range, etc to test the feel of the setting while in-game.

Info: If you are not happy with the Sensitivity, connect the Mini USB back to the PC and open up Zen studio, and click on the M&K Settings Tab, then Adjust the Sensitivity slider to your own personal preference (Raise or lower by a few digits depending on if you need it to be more or less sensitive).
